armed and empty handed

I seek to capture fleeting moments of intensity in my work. Ambiguous and suggestive of possible interpretations but universal in their scope and themes, my drawings aim to explore the inescapable transience of life and the tensions that exist between holding on and letting go. The personal and intimate connections we experience through relationships, families and self identity provide a rich subject area from which to create a visual narrative documenting my response to our constant human struggle to harmonise wants, needs and desires. Bound by a certainty of the uncertain, we really are all armed and empty handed.
